Hutt Community Secret Santa
Toha atu toha mai / I share with you, you share with me
Lower Hutt Community Secret Santa is an extension of Pay It Forward Hutt Valley & Make A Difference Hutt Valley's Secret Santa (est. 2019).
Hutt Secret Santa
This initiative is a way to spread Christmas magic to Lower Hutt children aged 13 and under (est. 2019). Last year, through the Pay It Forward Lower Hutt Facebook page, 145 children received presents.
Sign up a child in your care to get presents or to be a santa.
If you are interested but do not have the capacity to be a santa right now, scroll down to find about other ways to help.
This is a volunteer run project that does not have institutional barriers to seeking support. Children benefit from receiving personalised presents. Santas get to create Christmas magic, build community and increase hauora. Local small businesses benefit by the joy of supporting us and engaging with their community.
We try our best to match all nominated children with santas. Please let people know about this project because we want to provide for as many children as possible!
Many people are doing it tough in our community and we want to facilitate the spreading of Christmas joy and remove stress for local families this Christmas.
Building this community is circular. Santas may face financial precarity in the future and nominate their own children. We ask that you support small businesses that have supported us so they can support us more. We think that spreading Christmas joy and a sense of community will sow the seeds for all children and families involved to connect other community projects and do amazing things.
